Together with her siblings Fabrizio and Miriana, Claudia was born and raised in the Maltese town of Qawra. Her dad is from Italy. When she was twelve years old, Claudia started appearing on a variety of television programs. She also took part in numerous festivals and won the first place. In 2001, she took first place in the Talentissimi Juniors competition held at the Phoenicia Hotel in Malta. She performed live with Malta’s National Orchestra a year later at the University of Malta to raise money for underprivileged kids. Claudia performed in concert with her brother Fabrizio Faniello at the Mediterranean Conference Festival in 2003, and a year later she performed once more with the National Orchestra alongside Philippa, Nadine Axisa, and Fabrizio. She placed fourth on the 2005 season of the Net TV program Hotspot. With the song “High Alert!” written by Ray Agius, she began her involvement in the Malta Music For Europe Festival in the year 2006. She took up the prize for best newcomer in the same competition. Claudia won the 2006 Festival Kanzunetta Indipendenza with Ray Agius’ song “Ma Nafx,”. She sang “L-Imabba Gamja” (Love is Blind), which earned her a spot in the Malta Song for Europe 2007 Semi-Final. It was the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. She didn’t make it to the final round. In the summer of 2007, Claudia recorded the song “Wild Flower. She represented Estonia at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with her song “Et uus saaks alguse” (“So There Could Be a New Beginning”), placing 20th in the finals. Despite unsuccessful attempts in 2008 and 2012, she remained undeterred and even participated in the 2002 contest in Tallinn as part of the choir during the interval act. She took part in Eesti Laul, the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, again in 2019. Together with Tanja and The Swingers she sang “High Heels In The Neighbourhood” and reached a 6th place. Outside her thriving musical career, Birgit has made a mark in the theater world, starring in several professional productions. At Theatrum theatre, she played Sylvia in Shakespeare’s Two Gentlemen of Verona in 2007. Her theatre work also includes roles at the Vanemuine theatre, playing Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music and having supporting roles in the ethno musical Peko. From 2016, she began appearing as Sophie in the Estonian production of Mamma Mia and took up various roles in the 2022 musical “Ada,” based on the life of legendary Estonian actress Ada Ludver. In her personal life, Birgit is married to her manager, Indrek Sarrap, and the couple has two children. They reside in Tallinn. Formed in 2002, the band was made up of lead singer Raquel del Rosario from the Canary Islands, and Asturian musicians Juan Luis Suárez and David Feito, both on guitar. Before their current incarnation, the trio played under the name Xemà, releasing an album titled “Del Interior” in 2002. However, it was their reformation as El Sueño De Morfeo that truly brought them into the spotlight. Their debut album as El Sueño De Morfeo, released in 2005, was a massive success in Spain. The album was certified as a gold record and produced several hits, including “Nunca Volvera,” “Okupa de Tu Corazón,” and “Esta Soy Yo.” The latter song also earned Raquel del Rosario a nomination for Best Song at the Principality of Asturias Awards. In 2007, they followed up their successful debut with a second album titled “Nos vemos en el camino,” which further solidified their place in the Spanish music industry. This was followed by two more albums, “Cosas que nos hacen sentir bien” in 2009 and “Buscamos sonrisas” in 2011. The band represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. Their song “Contigo hasta el final (With You Until The End)” unfortunately did not fare well in the competition, finishing in the 25th place out of 26 contestants. They decided to take a break as a group, and at the end of 2014 they announced that they would reunite in January of the following year to record their next album. However, they ultimately decided to pursue separate paths, not having taken it as a definitive breakup. Raquel moved with her family to the United States. They made a joint musical collaboration in 2020 during the lockdown due to the COVID-19 crisis online. In June 2022, following the initiative of Prensa Ibérica, they gave a reunion concert at the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo, the proceeds of which were donated to those affected by the eruption of the La Palma volcano. Although Juan Luis was present and helped organize the event, he could not play the guitar. They announced that this would be their last concert and that they have no plans to resume their career as a group.
