The duo existed of Bianca Nicholas and Alex Larke. Bianca Nicholas has appeared on popular TV shows like The X Factor and The Voice UK. She has had notable performances, including singing a duet with Will Young and performing in front of Prince William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry. In 2011, Nicholas released a single called “Hold On To Your Dreams,” which made it onto the UK Top 100 singles chart. Additionally, she had a small role in the 1999 film Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp. It’s worth noting that Nicholas suffers from cystic fibrosis. Larke, on the other hand, was born in Welwyn Garden City. He currently serves as the lead singer for The Rolling Stones tribute group called The Rolling Clones and has toured extensively with the band in the UK and internationally. Larke has collaborated with notable artists like Cut La Roc and Donald D on their album Larger Than Life, which also features Gary Lightbody, the frontman of Snow Patrol. Apart from his music career, Larke works part-time in a primary school and teaches ukulele and recorder. In the past, he worked in a special needs school, focusing on children and young adults with profound to severe learning difficulties. Regarding their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, Electro Velvet was chosen by the BBC to represent the United Kingdom with their song “Still in Love with You.” The song received mixed to negative reviews upon its announcement. In the contest, they received 5 points and ranked 24th out of 27 participants. Following their Eurovision experience, Electro Velvet expressed gratitude to their fans on their official Facebook page and hinted at upcoming plans. However, their debut EP, which was scheduled for release and available for pre-order on PledgeMusic, was ultimately canceled due to Nicholas’ ongoing health issues. After a pause of three years, Electro Velvet went back to the studio in 2018 to record a new song, “Take me home”. However, the song did not know any follow up. She was born in Harlow, Essex and raised in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. As a child soloist, she sang in front of Charles, prince of Wales. She submitted a song to the national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest but was not selected. Growing older, she graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she was trained classically. She provided backing vocals and was a dancer for Belgian Eurovision artist Loïc Nottet in 2015 and was the musical director of Blanche in the 2017 contest. In 2016, SuRie released her first album “Something beginning with….”. She represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal, with her song “Storm” and finished 24th. Her performance was interrupted by a man who grabbed the microphone to make his own political statement. SuRie was offered to perform again, but she declined. A year after Eurovision, SuRie released her second album “Out of universe”. In 2020, she released a christmas record, “Last christmas”; her own version of the Wham! song. She was born in Pentyrch, Cardiff in 1991. Lucie’s career started when, in 2009, she took part in The X-Factor. She headed to the live shows, but was eliminated there. After that, she started a modelling career. In 2010, Lucie appeared in an episode of the tv-series The Sarah Jane adventures. In 2013, she performed in the musical We Will Rock You and she had a role in the musical American Psycho. In the same year, she teamed up with Rhys Meirion for the single “You never walk alone”. Two years later, one could see her in an episode of Midsomer Murders. The soundtrack of this episode, “The ballad of midsomer county”, was released on single. She also played in two musicals: Like me and Ghost – The Musical. In 2016, she could be seen in the UK tour of Rent. On January 27, 2017, Lucie took part in Eurovision: You decide, the British national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. Her song, “Never give up on you”, was co-written by former winner Emmelie de Forest. She won, and represented the UK in the Eurovision Grand Final, where she ended up in 15th place. He appeared in the eleventh series of The X Factor in 2014. In the X Factor series he reached the boot camp stage. Two years later, he featured in the Maison & Dragen single “I won’t stumble back”. Rice earned his money by singing in the streets. However, when a Youtube video of Rice went viral, it lead to his participation in the first series of BBC One’s singing competition All Together Now in 2018. He won the competition. In 2019, he took part in Eurovision: You Decide, the British national competition for the Eurovision Song Contest. He won and thus represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest. His Eurovision song “Bigger than us” was co-written by the Swedish contestant John Lundvik. Maybe that is the reason why he did not only reach the UK Charts (#25) but also the Swedish top-10 with the song. After the Eurovision Song Contest, Rice visited several countries to perform there, like Sweden, The Netherlands and Switzerland.
