🇸🇪 Sweden: Melodifestivalen continues

Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection, continues with a second heat. As Sweden is the host country, the winning song will go directly to the final. Two songs will go directly to the final, two other songs will go for ‘final qualification’, something that will be decided after the 5th heat. The show starts at 20:00 CET and you can watch it here or on the SVT Play app. These are the competing songs: Maria Sur sings “When I’m gone” Engmans Kapell sings “Norrland” Dear Sara sings “The silence after you” C-Joe sings “Ahumma” Liamoo sings “Dragon” Fröken Snusk sings “Unga & fria” Maria Sur was 9th in last year’s Melodifestivalen final.Liamoo was 6th in 2018. He was 2nd in 2019 with Hanna Ferm. In 2022 he was 4th.

🇩🇪 Floryan wins “Ich Will Zum ESC!”

After an exciting evening, in which three artists presented a possible German Eurovision entry, it’s Floryan who won the ticket to the German final. Floryan, the only member of team Rea (Rea Garvey) sang the song “Scars”. Both of the other contestants were members of team Conchita (Conchita Wurst). Although Anne Im (“Yellow brick road”) and Luca M. Wefes (“Farben neuer Tag”) also gained a lot of cheers from the audience, it was Floryan who received the most votes. The German final will be held on February 16.

🇩🇪 Germany: final of Ich will zum ESC!

Tonight the final of the show Ich will zum ESC! (I wanna go to ESC) will be held. Out of three candidates, one will be added to the German final next week. The coaches are Conchita Wurst and Rea Garvey. The show starts at 22:00 and you can watch it here and here. The three contestants are: Anne Im (team Conchita) Floryan (team Rea) Luca M. Wefes (team Conchita) A fourth candidate, Bibiane Z. (team Rea), had to withdraw due to an illness.

🇮🇱 Israel selects an artist for Eurovision

Tonight will be the night that Israel selects an artist for Eurovision. The final of HaKokhav Haba, the talent show that is also the Israeli preselection, will be held. The song that he or she will sing will be published later. The show starts at 20:15 CET and you can watch it here. In a statement, the EBU said that they will not exclude Israel from Eurovision as this is a competition between broadcasters and not between governments. Festival di Sanremo 2024 is going to start tonight. Tonight, all the artists will sing their song for the first time. The upcoming five days, you can watch Sanremo every night. After the final, the winner will let us know whether he or she will represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö this year. Tonight’s show starts at 20.40 CET. 🇺🇦 Jerry heil & Alyona have won vidbir 2024

Jerry Heil & Alyona will represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö with their song “Teresa & Maria. The duo will perform in the first semi-final. The song is a massive hit in Ukraine as it has been the number one hit single in the country for weeks! It’s notible as we can see that in the televote score. This is the result: Three time’s the lucky charm, as it’s not the first time Jerry Heil has took part in Vidbir. She tried to represent her country in 2019 with “Vegan” but she ended last. Last year she entered the compitition with “When God Shut The Door” where she ended up in third place.

🇸🇪 Smash Into Pieces & Lisa Ajax to Melodifestivalen final!

The big winners from tonight’s first heat are Smash Into Pieces with “Heroes Are Calling” And Lisa Ajax with “Awful Liar”! Smash Into Pieces won the first round of votes, and Lisa ajax came out on top in the second round with 86 points. We’ve seen both of the acts take part in Melodifestivalen in the past. Smash Into Pieces took part last year with their 3rd placing song “Six Feet Under”. Lisa Ajax has participated 4 times before, with her best entry “My Heart Wants Me Dead” resulting in a 7th place. We will see them perform in Friends Arena on march 9th. Elisa Lindström, and Adam Woods have qualified for the final qualification round. The round will be held right after the 5th heat.
