Around the age of ten, Salvador Sobral participated in the contest Bravo, Bravíssimo. In 2009, he participated again in a television contest, competing in Ídolos, where he was one of the finalists. Psychology student at ISPA, after the Ídolos experience he decided to apply for the Erasmus scholarship program, which took him to a university in Mallorca. It was during this time that he decided to dedicate himself to music, in a professional way. Realizing that he could support himself with music, he decided to leave the Psychology course and apply to the prestigious Taller de Músics school, a higher school of music in Barcelona, where he obtained a diploma in the specialties of modern music and jazz. In early 2014, while still attending Taller de Musics, he collaborated with the indie-pop band Noko Woi,, with whom he performed at the Sónar festival. However, throughout 2015, he gave several concerts in bars and small venues in Spain and Portugal. In November of the same year he participated in the festivals Vodafone Mexefest (Lisbon) and JazzyColor (in Paris). In March 2016, after completing his Taller de Musics course, Salvador Sobral published his first album, “Excuse Me”. It was from the recording of this album that he established the band members with whom he would play in several countries around the world: Júlio Resende on piano, André Rosinha on double bass and Bruno Pedroso on drums. In April and May 2016 he participated, as vocalist of the band Noko Woi, in the semifinal and final, respectively, of the band contest Bala Perduda, with the band taking second place. Solo, in 2016, he performed at EDP Cool Jazz, OutJazz, Out Fest and FOLIO – Óbidos International Literary Festival, giving concerts on various stages, in cities in Portugal and Spain. In 2017, Salvador Sobral ws the winner of the Festival RTP da Canção 2017, the Portuguese national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. He sang “Amar pelos dois”, with lyrics and music by Luísa Sobral. In Kiev, in the final of the Eurovision Contest 2017, it reached the historic vote of 758 points, leading both the televoting and the jury voting of the 42 voting countries. Also in 2017, in the aftermath of the Eurovision victory, he would present a new musical project, in partnership with Júlio Resende — the band Alexander Search, dedicated to the dissemination of the poetry of the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa and his heteronym Alexander Search. In this project, Salvador used the heteronym Benjamin Cymbra. On May 19, 2017, the band released their first single, “A Day of Sun”. Due to serious heart problems, he had to quit performing. After a heart transplant, Sobral was able to perform again. His first performance was at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. Shortly before that, he and his sister Lucia received the Portuguese Order Of Merit, given by the president of Portugal himself. In 2018, Salvador Sobral continued touring with his 1st album Excuse Me, taking part once again in EDP Cool Jazz, and debuting in several jazz festivals, such as: Festival Jardins de Pedralbes, Heineken Jazzaldia and the JazzVoyeur Festival. On March 29, 2019, Salvador Sobral released his second solo album, “Paris, Lisboa”. In February 2020, the singer gave two concects with the title “Salvador Sobral canta Jacques Brel”. Meanwhile, Noko Woi released a single and video, “Row”. In March 2021 a new single “Sangue do meu sangue”, was released, followed by the album “bpm” on May 28, followed by a new tour throughout Portugal, but after that throughout all Europe. He began his artistic career as a musician playing blues, funk and jazz. At eighteen he signed his first record deal and recorded his first album with the group Trikobalto. The video clips of the two singles from this album were played on the main musical television broadcasters and allow Trikobalto to perform in the main Italian festivals. In 2010, Trikobalto released their second album. A tour in France followed. Trikobaldo opened for Stereophonics. In the same year Gabbani left the band and signed a new record deal for the realization of his first solo project. In 2011 Gabbani released four singles. In 2014 he released his first solo studio album, “Greitist Iz”. In 2016 he presented himself in Sanremo Giovani with the song “Amen”. He won the Nuove proposti trophy. He grew up bilingually, with German and Italian. At the age of three he learned to play the violin and piano and was a child in musicals on the theater stage. In 2003, Trent took part in the Kiddy Contest. In 2011, as a member of the group Boyz II Hot, he came eleventh in the talent show X Factor Germany. It was the start of his performances in Ukraine. He won the Ukrainian/Georgian contest 10+10 in a duet with Marietta. He participated in season three of The Voice of Ukraine, finishing second. In the same year, 2013, he released his debut album and had a solo concert in Kiev. Nemsadze even had a hit in Ukraine, “Oy, chyy to kin stoyit”. He took part in several contests. He was even invited to participate in “Brittain’s Got Talent”, but due to visa problems he had to withdraw. In 2017 he participated in the Georgian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with his band Limbo. The song “Dear God” reached a 10th place. Two years later, he participated in Georgian Idol in order to be the Georgian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. He won and represented Georgia with the song “Keep on going”. Unfortunately, Nemsadze didn’t manage to reach the final. In may 2022, Oto and Limbo published a song called “Ukraine”, a song that was made as an ode to the country were he felt welcome, and that is now involved in a war.
