Spain: Benidorm Fest semifinal 2

Tonight is the night: Benidorm Fest will have it’s second and last semifinal. Benidorm Fest is the Spanish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. The Voice Georgia comes to it’s final

Tonight is the night: The Voice Georgia has it’s final. Why is that interesting for us? Well, the winner gets the ticket to Liverpool, where he or she will represent Georgia. The show starts at 19.00 CET and you can watch it here and on Facebook. It’s Brunette for Armenia

Brunette Rumour already had it, but now AMPTV (Armenian public broadcaster) has confirmed: Brunette will represent Armenia in Liverpool. Armenian television selected the singer internally. Brunette is one of the most famous singers in Armenia. Already when she was 15, she sang titles like “Night”, “Smoke Break” and “Light Blue Eyes”. On YouTube, she gained millions of views for these songs. Sending a young artist AMPTVs Executive Director Hovhannes Movsisyan commented on the selection of Brunette: “Last year, sending a young artist to Eurovision was justified. The song is still successful and captivates millions of fans. I hope this year we will surprise the European audience with a unique Armenian artist.” Selection process Davit Tserunyan, the Head of the Armenian delegation, added: “A few weeks after organising the Junior Eurovision in Yerevan, we started the process of selecting our representative for the contest. At this stage, we are working on the song and the video, which I am sure will be impressive!” Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest Armenia is present in the contest since 2006. Two times (in 2008 with Sirusho and in 2014 with Aram mp3) the country reached a 4th place. Austria: Teya & Salena will sing in Liverpool

photo: ORF   A lot of Eurovision news comes in these days. This morning, radiostation Ö3 announced that Teya and Salena will represent Austria. The song, of which we don’t know the title yet, will be presented the 8th of March, International Women’s Day. Both Teya and Salena have some Eurovision experience. Salena did an attempt in the internal selection in 2019 and Teya in 2020. Under the name of Thea Devy, Teya took part in the 2020 Serbian national selection with the song “Sudnji dan”. Teya in the Serbian final in 2020. Salena in The Voice Germany in 2017. The announcement for the Eurovision Song Contest (in German).

Victor Vernicos to represent Greece

Victor Vernicos announced Victor Vernicos will represent Greece in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. That is what ERT announced today in their main news bulletin. The title of 16-year old Victor’s song is already known too: “What they say”. The full song, written and composed by Victor himself, is not yet published. However, a fragment was already released. Internally chosen Vernicos was internally chosen by a jury, consisting of public and professionals. Out of 106 songs, three were chosen, and now finally “What they say” becomes the entry for the contest in Liverpool. The other finalists were Melissa Mantzoukis with the song “Liar” and rumoured selected duo Antonia Kaouri and Maria Maragkou with “Shout out”. From “Heroes” to “Hope it’s heaven” Victor Vernicos Jørgensen is a 16-year old, half Greek, half Danish singer. He currently has a contract at PANIK Records. Already when he was 4 years old, Victor started to sing. When he was 8 years old, he sang his own version of Måns Zelmerlöw’s “Heroes”. In 2021 he released his first single, “Hope it’s heaven”.

Moldova: former ESC participants all qualified

There are 10 qualifiers in Moldova. They have just been anounced on Moldovan television. Note that one of the songs that we mentioned among the auditioners, “Temperatura” sung by Lola, was disqualified. That makes the total of participants 30. In bold letters, the qualifiers. Out of 106 songs, three were chosen, and now finally “What they say” becomes the entry for the contest in Liverpool. The other finalists were Melissa Mantzoukis with the song “Liar” and rumoured selected duo Antonia Kaouri and Maria Maragkou with “Shout out”. From “Heroes” to “Hope it’s heaven” Victor Vernicos Jørgensen is a 16-year old, half Greek, half Danish singer. He currently has a contract at PANIK Records. Already when he was 4 years old, Victor started to sing. When he was 8 years old, he sang his own version of Måns Zelmerlöw’s “Heroes”. In 2021 he released his first single, “Hope it’s heaven”.

There are 10 qualifiers in Moldova. They have just been anounced on Moldovan television. It’s Brunette for Armenia

Brunette Rumour already had it, but now AMPTV (Armenian public broadcaster) has confirmed: Brunette will represent Armenia in Liverpool. Armenian television selected the singer internally. Brunette is one of the most famous singers in Armenia. Already when she was 15, she sang titles like “Night”, “Smoke Break” and “Light Blue Eyes”. Austria: Teya & Salena will sing in Liverpool

The song, of which we don’t know the title yet, will be presented the 8th of March, International Women’s Day. Both Teya and Salena have some Eurovision experience.
