Tonight is the night for Serbia. Pesma za Evroviziju 24 comes to an end, which means we know the Serbian entry tonight. Out of 16 songs, the Serbians will select their song. 🇮🇸 Iceland selects their entry

Tonight is the night when Iceland selects a song. Söngvakeppnin, their national final, will contain 5 songs. Out of these 5, jury and televoter will select two to head to a superfinal. In that superfinal, televotes will be added to select the winner. The show starts at 20:45 CET and you can watch it here or here (with English comments). These are the contestants: nr. Hera Björk represented Iceland in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Je ne sais quoi”. She took part in 2007 (semifinals), was the runner up in the 2009 Danish Melodi Grand Prix and 3rd in Söngvakeppnin 2019. The connection from Palestinian Bashar Murad with Iceland is the fact that, in 2019, he collaborated with Hatari in the song “Klefi/Samed”. This is, however, his first attempt in Eurovision. Bashar is the hot favourite to win tonight.

🇵🇹 Portugal: Festival RTP da Canção continues

Tonight, Portugal will continue Festival RTP da Canção, the annual national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Out of ten songs, 6 will be chosen for the final on the 9th of March. The show starts at 22:00 and you can watch it here and here. 🇸🇪 Sweden: Melodifestivalen 5th heat

Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection, continues with a 5th and last heat. As Sweden is the host country, the winning song will go directly to the final. Two songs will go directly to the final, two other songs will go for ‘final qualification’, something that will be decided after the 5th heat. 🇦🇹 Kaleen’s “We will rave” published

Today, also the Austrian entry “We will rave” has been published. Kaleen will represent the country. Where countries like Switzerland, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Cyprus published their entry with much publicity, it went completely different in Austria. The song was leaked, and this morning it was published on Spotify. Meanwhile, there is also an audio version published on Kaleen’s Youtube channel. The song “We will rave” is written and composed by Jimmy Thörnfeld, Anderz Wrethov, Julie Aagaard and Thomas Stengaard.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom: This is Olly’s “Dizzy”

After a lot of teasers, the moment was finally there: Olly Alexander presented his Eurovision entry “Dizzy”. Olly will represent the United Kingdom in the contest and thus will be placed directly into the final. “Dizzy” was written and composed by Olly himself together with Daniel Harle. And this is the song:

🇨🇾 Cyprus: This is how Silia’s “Liar” sounds

Today, Cyprus announced their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. Silia Kapsis was already known as the Cypriot contestant. The song is called “Liar” and is written and composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Elke Tiel. Kontopoulos wrote no less than 10 (!!) songs for the Eurovision Song Contest before and would have written 3 songs for the 2020 contest. This is the song “Liar”:

🇳🇱 Netherlands: Joost Klein sings “Europapa”

Joost Klein will represent The Netherlands, as we all know already. Today, in the tv-show Avondshow met Arjen Lubach, Joost presented his song “Europapa”. “Surreal, I feel honoured I can do this. I can show the art my friends and I work together. The artwork is in a gallery for a few moments. The song is very Dutch, I tried to make it as Dutch as possible.
