Serbia: 2nd semifinal Pesma za Evroviziju

Tonight Serbia continues with their national selection: Pesma za Evroviziju. 16 songs will compete, an expert jury (50%) and televoters (50%). The show will start at 21:00 CET and you can watch it on YouTube. Due to COVID19 the festival was cancelled and Hurricane got a 2nd chance with “Loco Loco” in 2021. Note that the girls are not the girls of the original group, but new singers.Zejna took part in last year’s national final and became 14th.Bane Lalić also took part last year but didn’t survive the semifinal.Ivona Pantelić became 12th last year.Gift became 13th last year.Milan Bujaković reached the 9th place in the 2020 final.

Iru Khechanovi was born on 3 December 2000 in Tbilisi. She is of Armenian descent. She started her career when she was a child and took part in In 2011, she won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She was a member of the group Candy, who reached the first place with the song “Candy music”. In 2019, Iru participated in Georgian Idol. That year, the show was the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately, she didn’t reach the live shows. On 25 May 2021, she released her debut solo single “No Jerk Around Me”, including a video. The song was followed by two more singles, “Not like today” on 3 July 2022 and “Tu mama” two weeks later. In the same year, Iru performed at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 as part of a previous winners’ medley. She had also co-written the song “I Believe” by Mariam Bigvava, the Georgian entry for that year’s contest. Mariam finished 3rd. On January 15, 2023, a new video of Iru was released: “Idea”. In the meantime, she also participated in The Voice Georgia. On 2 February 2023, she actually won The Voice, gaining the right to perform in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Unfortunately, her song “Echo” did not reach the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Teodora was born in Vienna, Austria. The singer spent part of her childhood in Kladovo, after which her family returned to Vienna. Teodora studied English and German at the University of Vienna. Teodora gained her first musical experiences in the high school jazz orchestra, and then on the musical stage in the Broadway Company. She decided early on to devote herself to music. She wrote her first song in 2017, and the following year she started collaborating with Austrian producers. Teodora, aka Thea Devy, recorded the song “Waiting For”. In 2019, she started working in Switzerland with Kate Northrop and producer Pele Lorient. She also participated in the Beyond Music project. At the end of 2019, she submitted her song “Judgment Day” for Austria’s internal selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Austrian national broadcaster ORF shortlisted her, but in the end they selected Vincent Bueno to represent Austria. She decided to submit the song to Beovizija 2020, the Serbian national selection for Eurovision. Teodora did not make it to the finals of the show, but was among the top eight in the competition. At the end of 2021, Croatian singer Ninski released the pop single “Runaway (Stay)” with Teodora. It is also the first time she presented herself under her new stage name – Teya. It was followed in October 2018 by a song in Romanian, “Și dacă azi zâmbesc”. Theodor Andrei released many singles, all in Romanian. In 2020, Theodor participated in the X-Factor. Unfortunately, he didn’t manage to survive the bootcamp. One year later, he had one of the main roles in the theatre play “Brainstorm”. On 25 July 2022, Theodor released the single “Ţigări mentolate”, for which he teamed up with Valentina. On 15 October of the same year, his debut album “Fragil” was released. On 11 February, 2023, Theodor was chosen to represent Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “D.G.T. (Off and on)”.
