Road to Rotterdam: Czech Republic

Benny Cristo’s real name is Ben da Silva Cristovão. That does not sound very Czech indeed. Benny Cristo is the son of an Angolan father and a Czech mother. In 2009 he was one of the finalists of Česko Slovenská SuperStar., The Czech / Slovak version of Pop Idol. He has now released three albums and had a big hit in 2019 with “Aleiaio”. A year later his song “Kemama” was selected to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. After the contest was canceled, the Czech broadcaster again chose Benny Cristo. For the contest in Rotterdam he wrote “Omaga”.

The artist reveal has answered one major question, while the song release will provide the next important moment for fans following Czechia’s Eurovision journey.
