That was not without any struggle. The Orthodox Church protested against the song “El diablo”. A declaration of love to the devil was not done they said, and they even demanded from the Cypriot government that the song had to be withdrawn. They hadn’t listened really well: the song was by no means a song of praise to the devil, but is about a woman who falls for a bad man.

Ukraine: Vidbir, the national selection, is won by Leléka. She sings her entry “Ridnym”. Leléka will perform in the 2nd semifinal in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.
