Montenegro’s Eurovision history

Montenegro first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest as an independent nation in 2007, following its split from Serbia and Montenegro. Despite its small size, the country brought diverse entries ranging from Balkan ballads to modern pop. Montenegro achieved its best result in 2015 with Knez‘s “Adio,” a traditional ballad composed by Željko Joksimović, which finished 13th in the final. However, financial constraints and challenges in qualifying for the final often hindered its success. After withdrawing in 2020 and after due to funding issues, Montenegro will now return to the contest.

🇮🇹 Lucio Corsi will represent Italy

It has been a week since Sanremo 2025 has come to an end. With a total of 23.8% Olly won the whole show with his song “Balorda Nostalgia”. Usually most Sanremo winners accept the offer to represent Italy at Eurovision, however during a press conference on Sunday afternoon Olly stated that he wasn’t sure and needed some time to think about it. Italian broadcaster RAI gave him one week to think about his desicion. Today Olly has chosen not to go Basel.  Olly shared this statement on his social media: “For days I have been asking myself and asking everyone’s opinions. The answer is always the same: ‘In the end, you have to do what you feel.’ I firmly believe that I need to connect with everything that is happening to me before looking even further.” Lucio Corsi, the runner-up of this year’s Festival Di Sanremo, was very positive about representing Italy if Olly would decline. Lucio came second in the competition with a total of 23.4% together with his song “Volevo Essere Un Duro”. Rai announced that Lucio will wave the Italian flag at Eurovision with his Sanremo song. Italy is already in the Eurovision final, as it is one of the big 5 countries, but will still vote in the First Semi-Final.  This is Lucio’s song: Share
