Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest
Ukraine has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2003 and has won three times: in 2004 with Ruslana’s Wild Dances, in 2016 with Jamala’s 1944, and in 2022 with Kalush Orchestra’s Stefania. The country has never failed to qualify for the final. Ukraine’s entries often feature a mix of contemporary and traditional elements. The national selection process, Vidbir, determines its representatives. Due to the ongoing war, the 2023 contest was hosted in the United Kingdom instead of Ukraine. Ukraine frequently places in the top ten and receives strong support from both the jury and public votes.
