Biography

Zdravko Čolić is a renowned Bosnian-Serbian pop singer who has enjoyed a long and successful career in the music industry. Often referred to as the “Tom Jones of the Balkans,”

Zdravko Čolić was born on May 30, 1951, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He started singing in various local bands while he was still a teenager. His big break came in 1973 when he was chosen to represent Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Gori vatra” (Fire is Burning), finishing in the fifteenth place.

After his Eurovision appearance, Čolić’s career took off. His debut solo album, “Ti i ja” (“You and I”), released in 1975, became a massive hit in Yugoslavia, cementing his position as one of the country’s most popular pop stars. Over the years, he released numerous successful albums, including “Ako priđeš bliže” (1977), “Zbog tebe” (1980), “Čarolija” (1984), “Ti si mi u krvi” (1984), and “Svetski čovek” (2006), among others.

Zdravko Čolić has his own YouTube Channel, but unfortunately doesn’t want us to share his performance of “Gori Vatra” on our website. You can, however, follow the link below to see it.
