Biography
William Mangion is a Maltese singer and musician. He started his career in 1973 by playing in several bands and lived in the UK for some time. He returned to Malta in 1981. He rose to fame by playing in a band called The Exit, later changed to Getting Closer. They played with many artists of international fame. The band split up in 1991, and William decided to start a solo career. In 1993, he represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest. After Eurovision, William played as the main musician of a club in Sliema. In 2003, he was chosen to represent Malta at the Europe day celebrations in Rome. We saw him back in the Malta Song For Europe in 2007. Four years later, William moved to the USA. Back in Malta, he still performs regularly all over the island.
