Biography
Toše Proeski was a Macedonian singer, songwriter and actor. His musical career started in 1996 when he participated in a teenage music festival in Prilep. In 1997 he rose to fame in the entire Balkan by participating in Makfest and other contests. He took part in Skopje Fest twice, and was chosen to represent North Macedonia in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest. Proeski was also a Unicef goodwill ambassador. He also wrote songs for others; one of his songs competed in the 2005 national final for the Eurovision Song Contest.
On 16 october 2007, Toše Proeski died in a car accident in Croatia. The government organized an official state funeral.
