Biography

Svetlana, whose real name is Claire de Loutchek, is a French singer with Russian roots. She began her career as a member of Ivan Rebroff’s choir during his tours and concerts. In the early 1980s, she played in several cabaret groups. In 1982, she represented Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Cours après le temps”. That was a year after she released her debut single “Quand ta lettre est arrivée”. She also provided the music for the animation movie “Brisby et le secret de Nimh”. After recording just a few more singles, and performing in some television shows, she disappeared from stage. Only in 1990, she recorded another album, “Chansons Ruses”. She is accompanied by her brother, guitarist Pascal de Loutchek.
In 1999 she was invited by the famous film music composer Michel Legrand to cooperate in the soundtrack of “La bûche” (Christmas Dinner). After this Svetlana left the entertainment world.
