Biography

Silje Vigeis a Norwegian artist from Jørpeland. She won Melodi Grand Prix in 1993 with the song “Alle mine tankar”, which was written by her father, Bjørn-Erik Vige.In the international final she came in fifth place.
As a singer, she has participated in productions with The Stonefish Brigade in 2007 and 2008 and The Brigade in 2014 as well as on folk music projects under the auspices of the Ryfylkemuseet (“Bergteken” and “Frå Hidle til Heng”). Silje Vige holds a master’s degree in religion, drama and folk music as well as a master’s degree in traditional art (folk music). She works with children’s and youth theater in Strand Kulturskole. Silje is married to vocalist and writer Østen Vige Bergøy. The couple has two children and lives in Stavanger.
