Biography

Sabahudin Kurt was a Yugoslav and Bosnian pop and folk singer. He appeared in the Yugoslav music scene in 1954 when he recorded the song “Dim u tvojim očima”. In 1964 he represented Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Život je sklopio krug”. Unfortunately, he didn’t gain any point. Despite his failure in Copenhagen, Kurt’s career has gone upward, with numerous appearances abroad, notably as many as 17 tours through the Soviet Union.
At the beginning of the 1980s Sabahudin was a member of the Opera of the National Theater in Sarajevo and a member of the Sarajevo male group “Preporod”. He has also had some roles in sitcoms on Yugoslav television.
Sabahudin Kurt retired from the music scene in 2007 after suffering a heart attack. He spent the last year of his life in the village of Gornje Vlakovo near Sarajevo. He was married to Ismet Kurt, with whom he had two sons, Damir and Almir. Sabahudin Kurt passed away on 30 march 2018.
