Romuald

Biography

Romuald is a French singer and composer. He was born in Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Finistère. Romuald began his career at the Théâtre des Variétés where he played “La Grosse Valse” by Robert Dhéry, between October 1962 and January 1964. He represented Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 with the song “Où sont-elles passées?”. In 1967, he was the French voice of George Chakiris in “Les Demoiselles de Rochefort”. One year later, he represented Andorra at the International Song Festival in Rio. He sang the song “Le Bruit des vagues” and became 5th. The following year, he represents Andorra again at the same festival, and got the same place with a song called “Tous les printemps du monde”. In 1969, he participated in the Eurovision Song Contest again, this time for Luxembourg, with the song “Catherine”.
In 1973, he represented France at the 14th Festival of Viña del Mar (Chile) with the song “Laisse-moi le temps”. In 1974, he was in the Eurovision Song Contest  for the third time and again for Monaco. Romuald ranks fourth with the song “Celui qui reste et celui qui s’en va”. He was the composer of the music for several songs. Romuald composed many songs with the lyricist Magali Fallourd (aka Magali Déa).
