Biography

Quartissimo is a Slovenian violin quartet formed in 2007. The group consists of four classically trained musicians: Žiga Cerar, Matjaž Bogataj, Luka Dukarić, and Samo Dervišić. They are known for blending classical and modern music styles.

In 2009, Quartissimo represented Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest with their song Love Symphony, featuring vocalist Martina Majerle. The song combined orchestral sounds with contemporary pop elements. While they delivered a unique performance in the second semi-final, they did not qualify for the grand final.

The group’s name, Quartissimo, reflects their passion for string quartet music. Each member has a strong background in classical music and has performed with renowned Slovenian orchestras.

Quartissimo has also performed in various international music festivals, promoting classical crossover music.
