Biography
Put was a group, established especially for the Eurovision Song Contest. They represented Croatia in the 1993 contest with the song “Don’t ever cry”. Put excisted of members of the larger group Putokazi. This group from Rijeka was established in 1984. In its form Putokazi is a choral ensemble of up to 7 singers in concert which perform choral singing in modern arrangements. The performance involves stage and dance movements. By the time they went to Eurovision, Putokazi excisted of 12 members, which is not allowed in Eurovision. Half of the members went to the contest under the name of Put. Nowadays, Putokazi is still active. Also the members of E.N.I. came from Putokazi. In total, 394 singers have been member of the group for a longer or shorter time.
Kvalifikacija Za Millstreet
The 1993 Croatian entry was chosen through a selection round called “Kvalifikacija za Millstreet”, which was held the 3rd of april in Ljubljana.
