Biography
Nora Nova is a German/Bulgarian pop singer. She was born in Sofia where she studied at the theatre academy. In 1960 she moved to West Berlin, where she started performing. She got a record deal and released her first single “Die große Chance”. However, she did not manage to get any hits. Her first success came in 1961, when she became fourth in the German Schlagerfestspielen. She had a hit in 1963 with the song “Männer gibt’s wie Sand am Meer”.
In 1964, Nora Nova was selected to represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Man gewöhnt sich so schnell an das Schöne”. Unfortunately, she did not gain any point.
Her singing career stopped here. Nora Nova held several restaurants and a boutique in cities like Düsseldorf and München. In 1989, she returned to the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
