Biography

Next Time is a rock band from Skopje, North Macedonia. The group is made up of twin brothers Martin and Stefan Filipovski. Stefan is the lead singer, and Martin plays guitar and sings backup.

Early Years (2008–2012): Starting Out and Eurovision

Next Time began in 2008 after signing with Plan B Production. Before this, they performed at children’s festivals as a small garage band. They were discovered by Jovan Jovanov, a composer and songwriter, who helped them release their first song, Ne veruvam vo tebe (I Don’t Believe in You), in May 2008. The song became a big hit in Macedonia, and they also made their first music video for it.

The band won several awards in music festivals that year, including “Summer Hit of the Year” and “Best New Artist.” Their song Bez tebe tivko umiram (I’m Slowly Dying Without You) earned them second place at MakFest, a popular Macedonian music festival.

In December 2008, they released their first album, Next Time, featuring 13 songs. Two were bonus tracks in other languages: one in English (Why Did You Go) and one Italian song (Caruso).

In February 2009, they won the Macedonian Eurovision selection competition with their song Nešto što ke ostane (Something That Will Remain). They performed at Eurovision in Moscow but didn’t advance past the semi-finals. Later that year, they held a concert in Skopje.

Second Album (2012–2014): Na krajot na denot

The band released their second album, Na krajot na denot (At the End of the Day), in 2012. They made a music video for their song Lice od raj (A Face of Paradise), which featured a modern storyline and was filmed in different locations in Skopje.

After this album, the duo took a break from music. In 2018, they returned to the stage for the Edna ljubov (One Love) festival, performing in North Macedonia and Bulgaria.

Recent Work (2022–Present): Majka and Tours

In 2022, they released their third album, Majka (Mother), which took them eight years to complete. In 2023, they toured Australia for the first time, performing in cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. They continued their Australian tour in 2024, giving concerts in even more cities.
