Biography

Nazar was a group, especially formed in order to participate in the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978. The group won the contest, and thus represented Turkey in the international final with the song “Sevinçe”. The group members went their own way after the contest.
Nilüfer Yumlu (Istanbul, May 31, 1955) was a star already in Turkey and remained so. She released no less than 24 albums. In 1986, she did a renewed attempt to represent Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Dağhan Baydur (Istanbul, February 3, 1949) studied piano and came to play with the Istanbul City Orchestra. He played in musicals, a.o. “Hair”. After Eurovision, he went to the United Kingdom and worked there as a musician for film. He worked together with people like Elton John, David Bowie and Miles Davis.
Olcayto Ahmet Tuğsuz also played in the assembly of “Hair”. After his Eurovision adventure, he started composing songs for other people. Twice he wrote the Turkish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest: in 1982 for Neco and in 1987 for Seyyal Taner & Lokomotif.
Zeynep Tuğsuz, wife of Olcayto Ahmet, did not do anything in showbusiness after the Eurovision Song Contest.
