Biography
Melovin is a Ukrainian singer, born in Odessa. He participated in the Ukrainian talent show X Factor three times, but never made it to the television castings. In 2015, he finally made it to the show. Melovin managed to win the show. After that, he went on a concert tour of Ukraine. In 2017 he participated in Vidbir, the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the song “Wonder”. In the end, he finished third.
In November of the same year, Melovin released his first EP, “Face to Face”, which included five English-language tracks and one Ukrainian-language. In 2018, he participated in Vidbir again and won, so he represented Ukraine in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Under the ladder”. In 2019, he released a second mini album, called “Octopus”. This album contained “Under the ladder”. In the same year, Melovin received an M1 Music Award for ‘breakthrough of the year’.
In 2020, Melovin scored two hits, both non album singles: “Vitryla” and “I krov kypyt”. A year later, he came out as bisexual at the Atlas Weekend. In 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, Melovin released a single about the war, “Ne zvolikay”. He also performed in Germany and Poland to ask for attention for the Ukrainian situation.
