Biography

Austrian singer and journalist Marty Brem rose to fame in 1980, when he represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest as a member of the group Blue Danube. The following year, he represented Austria as a solo singer at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Wenn du da bist”. His band in these days was called Marty and the Bomfriz. In 1982 he sang in the New Wave band Spastic Elastic, 1983 to 1984 in the punk band Mordbuben AG. For the film “Müllers büro” Marty Brem sang three songs in 1986. From 1984 Brem worked as a music journalist at the magazine “Musik-Express / Sounds”. In 1988 he became Marketing Consultant at Philip Morris in Munich, 1992 Marketing Director at Phonogram / Universal. In 1995, he became Vice President of International Marketing at Sony Music Entertainment Europe in London. In 1997 he became managing director of Columbia Records in Berlin. In 2001 his wife Ursula died unexpectedly. Since she had collected kimonos, Brem developed a new business concept in 2004. He madescarves and skirts of kimono fabrics under the label “Sai So” .  He has been the manager of several companies since then.
