Biography
He attended high school in Inowrocław. After graduating in 2003, he started studying acting at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw.
At nine years old, Marcin won first place at a national children’s song festival. At 14, he performed in the musical Gdzie nasi idole, gdzie nasi poeci in Bydgoszcz. He also appeared on the TVP2 program 5-10-15.
In 2002 and 2005, he reached the semifinals of the Polish edition of Idol. In 2004, he won an episode of the TVP program Szansa na Sukces. For four years, he worked on the TVP1 program Songowanie na ekranie. He won several song festivals in cities like Warsaw, Radom, and Bydgoszcz.
In 2007, Marcin performed the song “Czy słyszysz, co mówię” by Seweryn Krajewski at the 44th National Polish Song Festival in Opole. That same year, he started working as a voice actor and appeared with his family on the TV game show Rodzina jak z nut. On September 12, 2008, TVP Polonia aired the concert Zaiks to twórcy, where Marcin performed three songs.
In 2008, Marcin won the role of Raoul in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical The Phantom of the Opera, debuting on the stage of the Warsaw Musical Theatre Roma. The album with songs from the musical achieved triple platinum status. On November 7, he debuted as Sean in the Polish premiere of the musical Boyband at the Comedy Theatre. That year, he also participated in the Piosenka dla Europy 2008 contest with his song “Never Felt Like This,” but did not reach the final.
In April 2009, Marcin finished recording as the host of the children’s game show Staraoke in London. From September, he appeared as a musical guest on the TVP1 program Jaka To Melodia? and acted in the TVN Turbo show Wieczór kawalerski. In December, he performed in the concert Najlepsze z Romy at the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, playing characters from musicals like Miss Saigon and Les Misérables.
He began performing at the Polish Radio Theatre in 2009, and he joined the cast of the radio series Matysiakowie. On October 30, 2009, Marcin presented the song “Legenda,” recorded with the Mazowsze Song and Dance Ensemble.
In February 2010, Marcin won the national Eurovision selection with his song and represented Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, finishing 13th in the semi-final. Later in 2010, he won the role of Marius in the musical Les Misérables at the Musical Theatre Roma, performing until May 2012.
In 2011, Marcin moved to London to host the Cartoon Network show Ben 10: Ultimate Challenge. In 2012, he represented Poland at the Sunčane Skale festival in Montenegro with the song “Is That a Real Love?” and placed third. In 2013, he adopted the stage name Martin Fitch and moved to London to work on his debut album. In 2015, he hosted the program Cartoon Network Expedition and released the single “Divides Us” in April 2016.
In February 2017, Martin qualified for the Polish preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Fight for Us,” finishing seventh in the final. In November 2017, he hosted the online program Myślę Pozytywnie, produced by the Positive Education Institute Foundation.
Marcin performed in Iceland in November 2018 along with Hera Björk. In 2019 he performed at Eurostarz in Concert in London. He was a voice actor for several animation movies, among others Frozen and Frozen2. In October 2020 he took part in the talent show The Four, where he made it to the final.
In 2022, Marcin hosted Hells Kitchen Polska for the TV station PolSat. A year later, he hosted Miss Supranational 2023 ánd Mister Supranational 2023. He was part of the concert 100 years of jazz in Polish cinema in January 2024.
