Mamagama

Mamagama is an Azerbaijani band formed in 2021 in Baku. The group comprises vocalist Sefael “Asaf” Mishiyev, guitarist Bahruz “Huss” Efendiyev, and drummer Allahverdi “Arif” Gumbetli. Their music blends elements of indie pop and alternative rock, incorporating both traditional Azerbaijani sounds and modern influences.

In 2022, Mamagama participated in Albania’s Kënga Magjike music festival, where they won the first prize in the “international artists” category with their single “Dreamer.” Following this, they applied to represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Although they were among the five final candidates, the national broadcaster, İctimai Television (İTV), selected the duo TuralTuranX for that year’s contest.

On February 4, 2025, İTV announced that Mamagama had been internally selected to represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, scheduled to take place in Basel, Switzerland. The band expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to showcase their music on an international stage.

Throughout their career, Mamagama has released several singles, including “My Medicine,” “Sleep,” “Dreamer,” “River,” and “This Is for You.” These tracks highlight their distinctive sound, which merges modern musical styles with Azerbaijan’s rich musical heritage.

Mamagama maintains an active presence on social media platforms, including Instagram, where they share updates and connect with their audience. Their official Instagram account, @mamagama_official, features photos and announcements related to their musical endeavors.

As of February 2025, the band is preparing for their performance at Eurovision, aiming to deliver a memorable presentation that reflects their unique musical style.
