Biography

Mălina Olinescu was a Romanian singer. Her musical career began in 1995, with performances at music festivals. In 1997 she scored her first nationwide hit with “Mi-e Dor De Tine”. In 1998 she won the Selecţia Naţională, the Romanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song “Eu cred” (“I believe”).  A short time later, her album “Pot Să Zbor” appeared. In 2003, Olinescu took part in the Romanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Tăcerea Doare”. On December 12, 2011, Olinescu committed suicide, jumping out of the window of her sixth-floor apartment.
