Biography
Luca Barbarossa is an Italian singer/songwriter. He started his career in 1980 by winning the Castrocaro Music Festival, which gave him the ticket to the Festival of Sanremo in 1981. He finished in the fourth place there with the song “Roma spagliata”. In the same year, he released his debut album and performed as a support act for Riccardo Cocciante. In 1986, he took part in the Festival of Sanremo again, followed by a participation in 1987. Both were not too succesful, but in 1988 he earned the 3rd place. As the number 1 and 2 of that year didn’t wanna represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest, it was Luca Barbarossa who got the challenge. He wrote a song called “Vivo”, later changed te title into “Ti scrivo” for the contest. Barbarossa released no less then eleven albums and a live album. He participated at the Festival of Sanremo on 9 occasions, 1988 being the most successful one. Luca Barbarossa is married to Ingrid Salvat, he is the father of three children: Valerio, Flavio and Margot.
