Anne Peichert grew up in northern France in a family with six siblings. She developed an interest in music at an early age and participated in L’École des Stars, a French children’s talent show, in 2009.
In 2013, at 16 years old, she auditioned for the second season of The Voice: La Plus Belle Voix. She performed “Un homme heureux” by William Sheller in the blind auditions and was chosen by Louis Bertignac as her coach. She advanced to the semi-finals, performing songs like “Imagine” by John Lennon and “Someone Like You” by Adele. Although she did not win, her participation introduced her to a wide audience.
Following The Voice, Louane was cast in the 2014 film La Famille BĂ©lier, directed by Éric Lartigau. She played Paula BĂ©lier, a teenager growing up in a deaf family who discovers her talent for singing. She performed “Je vole”, originally by Michel Sardou, as part of the film’s soundtrack.
For her performance, she won the CĂ©sar Award for Most Promising Actress in 2015. The film was a commercial success in France and helped Louane transition into the music industry.
Louane released her debut album, “Chambre 12”, in 2015. It reached number one on the French album charts and was certified diamond. The lead single, “Avenir”, became a chart success in France, Belgium, and Germany. Other singles included “Jour 1” and “Jeune (j’ai envie)”.
Her self-titled second album, “Louane”, was released in 2017. The album featured singles such as “On Ă©tait beau”, “Si t’étais lĂ ”, and “Immobile”. It received platinum certification in France.
