Biography
Lljiljana Petrović, born in the now Serbian city of Novi Sad, is a Yugoslavian/Serbian singer. In 1960, she was discovered by the director of Jugoton who offered her a record contract. One year later, she was chosen to represent Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Neke davne zvezde”. After this, she sang in numerous festivals in Yugoslavia. However, she did not manage to win them. She participated in the festival of Zagreb in 1962, when she won one of the awards. She scored a hit with the song “Andrija”. She also received the award of the expert jury of the Subotica Youth Music Festival in 1967. Singing star Ljiljana Petrovic began to fade in the late 1970s, so slowly, almost imperceptibly, Lj. Petrovic and left the entertainment scene.
Since 1989, Ljilljana has been engaged in haiku poetry, first reciting her lyrics on Belgrade television in 1990, then publishing them in magazines and in 1991 in a book. Later she composed music on haiku verses.
