Biography

Line & Willy were a French singing duo. They rose to fame in 1966 when they first won a show called Palmarès de Chansons and after that, won the 2nd prize in the Rose d’or d’Antibes with the song “Pourquoi pas nous?”.
They had some small hits in France : “Près de la Fontaine” (1966), “Nous on s’aime” and “On se ressemble” (1967), “La vie à deux,” “Rien n’empêche la terre de tourner” and “Le marchand d’arc-en-ciel” (1968), “Les jardins Italiens”(1970), “Si un jour tu t’en vas” (1972), and an album in 1967.
In 1968, they added three songs to the French national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. However, they withdrew when it became clear that they were going to represent Monaco in the contest with the song “A chacun sa chanson”.
In the early seventies, the duo recorded three albums for children. In 1976, they split up. Line kept on performing as a solo singer.
Willy passed away on 20 september 2018.
