Klemen

Klemen developed a passion for performing at an early age. He studied acting at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film, and Television (AGRFT) in Ljubljana. His education provided him with a strong foundation in drama and performance, which he later used in his diverse career.

Slakonja’s breakthrough came when he joined the Slovenian National Theatre Drama in Ljubljana. His talent for both dramatic and comedic roles quickly made him a standout performer. However, he gained wider recognition as the host of the popular television show Znan obraz ima svoj glas, the Slovenian version of Your Face Sounds Familiar. His ability to transform into different celebrities with near-perfect accuracy made him a fan favorite.

Beyond television, Slakonja has also performed in numerous theater productions, showcasing his versatility as an actor. His stage performances often blend comedy, music, and social satire.

Slakonja gained international fame with his viral YouTube parodies. His 2016 video Putin, Putout, in which he humorously impersonates Russian President Vladimir Putin, became a global sensation. The video, combining clever satire with an original song, garnered millions of views and brought him international attention. Following its success, he released more impersonation videos, including those of Donald Trump, Angela Merkel, and Pope Francis, further solidifying his reputation as a master impressionist.

In 2016, Slakonja was also involved in the Eurovision Song Contest as the host of EMA 2016, Slovenia’s national selection for the competition. In 2025, Klemen Slakonja was chosen to represent Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest. This marks a significant milestone in his career, as he transitions from hosting EMA 2016 to taking center stage as a performer. 

Aside from acting and comedy, Slakonja is also a talented singer. He has released several original songs and continues to integrate music into his performances. His work often carries a satirical edge, commenting on political and cultural issues in an entertaining way.
