Biography

Ketil Stokkan is a Norwegian singer, guitarist and songwriter. He is best known as a front figure in the group ZOO in the early 1980s as well as a participant in the Melodi Grand Prix. He represented Norway twice in the Eurovision Song Contest: in 1986 and in 1990.
In the mid-1970s, Stokkan was a member of a band called Nexus. In 1977 he joined ZOO at Stokmarknes, where he became the most important songwriter and vocalist. After two albums in English, ZOO was successful with four albums in Norwegian and songs such as “Evig ung”, “Vent, ikkje legg på” and “Ola Nordmanns sexualliv” – all three songs written and sung by Ketil Stokkan. As of 2018, Ketil Stokkan works as a teacher at Nordkjosbotn secondary school.
