Biography
Katarína Hasprová is a Slovak singer. the daughter of well-known director Pavol Haspra and actress Soňa Valentová. After graduating from high school in Bratislava she studied in the musical department at the Janáček Academy in the Czech city of Brno. In the following years she played in various musicals at home and abroad. In 1997 she received a golden lyra for the song “Jedno zbohom”, which gave her the possibility to start a singing career. The following year, she represented her homeland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 in Birmingham, with the song Modlitba (A prayer). In 1999 her debut album was released. The music video for the single “Izabel” was frequently played on Slovak television. In 2002 her second album was released. Since then, she has appeared in various roles, singing in musicals and appearing at many prestigious festivals.
