Biography
Jessica Muscat, known professionally as Jessika, is a Maltese singer and actress born on February 27, 1989, in Mosta, Malta. She began her musical journey at a young age, participating in the national final for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with the song “Precious Time.” From 2008 to 2017, Jessika made multiple attempts to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest, entering the national selection each year with various songs.
In 2018, Jessika shifted her focus to San Marino’s national selection for Eurovision. She initially performed “Who We Are” as a duet with Sammarinese rapper Irol. After his withdrawal, German singer Jenifer Brening joined her for the performance. The duo won the selection and represented San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal. They performed in the second semi-final but did not advance to the final, placing 17th with 28 points.
Following her Eurovision participation, Jessika released the single “No la conoces” in 2019. In 2022, she returned to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Kaleidoscope.” Although initially eliminated, she was granted a wild card spot for the final but finished in 17th place.
In 2023, Jessika entered the Malta Eurovision Song Contest again with the song “Unapologetic.” She performed in the third quarter-final on January 27, 2023, but was eliminated and did not advance to the semi-finals.
Together with Fabrizio Faniello and Vitorio Gauci, Jessika formed JVL. The trio participated in the 2025 Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Festa (no time for Siesta)”.
