Biography
Jelena Tomašević was born on November 1, 1983, in Negotin, Serbia (then part of Yugoslavia). She grew up in Kragujevac, where she discovered her passion for music at an early age. As a child, she participated in various local singing competitions, which paved the way for her professional music career.
Jelena’s rise to fame began in 2002 when she won the Serbian music competition “3K Dur,” a platform that promoted young musical talents. In 2008, she represented Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade with the song “Oro,” composed by Željko Joksimović. The haunting Balkan ballad earned sixth place in the final and solidified her name as one of Serbia’s most talented vocalists.
In June 2015, Jelena released her second studio album, “Ime Moje,” which matched the success of her debut album. The album was praised by both critics and fans. In 2018, she released the single “Dobro Jutro Ljubavi,” showcasing her versatility as an artist.
A major milestone in her career was her guest performance at the concert of the world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli during the “Belgrade River Fest” in July 2022. Together, they performed the duets “Vivo per Lei” and “Canto della Terra,” and Jelena also delivered a stunning rendition of the traditional song “Gde si bilo jare moje,” representing Serbian cultural heritage.
During this period, Jelena actively performed both domestically and internationally. She gave concerts in cities such as Skopje, Podgorica, and Sarajevo and participated in various music festivals and special events. Her concert schedule included a performance at the Sava Centar in Belgrade in March 2025 and a humanitarian concert in Kragujevac in September 2025.
Beyond her musical career, Jelena served as a judge on the Serbian children’s talent show “Pinkove Zvezdice” from 2014 to 2018, sharing her expertise and mentoring young talents.
In May 2024, she released her third studio album, “Iskrena,” which received positive reviews and further strengthened her position in the music industry. The album included songs such as “Suncokret” (2019), “Diraj mi usne” (2020), and “Sve ispočetka” (2021). The title track, “Iskrena,” was released in 2024 and was well received by both critics and audiences.
Jelena has been married to actor Ivan Bosiljčić since August 28, 2011, and they have a daughter, Nina, born on January 24, 2012. Despite her busy career, she balances her professional and personal life, often sharing updates with her fan base.
