Biography
Jean-Paul Mauric was a French singer. He represented France in the 1961 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Printemps (avril carillone). In 1965 he was a finalist at La Rose d’Or at the Song festival of Antibes with the song “Écrit comme une symphonie”. This song became a hit in Canada in the version of Shirley Theroux.
Jean-Paul Mauric recorded songs like “Jolie mome” by Léo Ferré, “Carillon d’Alsace”, “Les fancés d’Auvergne”, “Tendresse” and “C’est joli la mer”.
Jean-Paul Mauric recorded more than 200 titles for several labels.
Jean-Paul Mauric died of heart disease at age 37, 5 january 1971. He is buried in the cemetery of Hyères (Var).
