Jean-Claude Pascal

Biography

Jean-Claude Pascal was a French fashion designer, actor and singer.
After surviving the Second World War in Strasbourg, Pascal studied law and economics at the Sorbonne in Paris. He then worked as a fashion designer for Christian Dior. Through the design of costumes for the play “Don Juan”, he came in touch with, In1949 he played his first role in “Quattro rose Rosse”. Many movies were about to follow, including “Die schöne Lügnerin” with Romy Schneider (1959), “Unter den Dächern von St. Pauli” (1970) “Angélique et le sultan” (1968) alongside Michèle Mercier. In the 1960s, Pascal reduced acting and focused more on his career as a singer. He won the 1961 Eurovision Song Contest for Luxembourg with the song “Nous les amoureux” and submitted songs to the internal selections in France in 1962 and 1965. In 1981, he participated again for Luxembourg and landed with the song “C’est peut-être pas l’Amérique” . In the French TV series “Comment ne pas épouser un Milliardaire” (1966), Jean-Claude Pascal starred alongside Marie-France Boyer.  He played and sang in 1971 in the DEFA Musikfilm “Die Chansonreise”. Jean-Claude Pascal  died of cancer at the age of 64 on 5 may 1992; he is buried at the Cimetière Montparnasse in Paris.
