Biography

Ingrid Peters is a German singer and tv-show host. She graduated as a sports teacher. In 1976 she recorded her first album “Komm doch mal ’rüber” with the hit single with the same name, and more hits followed. In 1979 she took part in the German national final for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Du bist nicht frei”, but she only became 8th. In 1983 she became 3rd at the International Seoul Song Festival in South Korea. In the same year she became 2nd in the German national final for the Eurovision Song Contest with “Viva La Mamma”. Three years later she succeeded in going to the Eurovision Song Contest. She represented Germany with the song “Über die Brücke geh’n”. After this she said goodbye to showbiz for a few years and canceled her contract with Ralph Siegel. She made her comeback in 1994 and three years later she sang at the Schlager Festival with “Komm und halt mich fest” and took the 6th place. In 2002 she started the One-Woman-Musical-Show “Bin ich denn total verrückt ?!” She also works as a radio show host. In 2011 she was involved in the tv-show ‘Cover my song’, where a rapper made his own version of “Komm doch mal ‘rüber”, while she made a version of his rap. Together with the French guitarist and entertainer Laurent Kremer she created another concert series in the intimate setting of cultural houses and cabarets under the title “Züruck nach vorne” in 2014.
