Biography
Habibi, in Israel known as Hakol Over Habibi, is an Israeli band. The band was established in 1975, when Yuval Dor, Ami Mendelman and Kiki Rotstein appeared in a show together. It was a success, and the temporary performance became permanent under the name Hakol Over Habibi. The group recorded several songs. In 1979, they were offered a song for the national selection of the Eurovision Song Contest: “Hallelujah”. The band refused it. In december 1980, the band wrote a song for the Children’s Song Festival and won. They represented Israel in the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest with “Halaylah”. In december of that year, they competed in the Children’s Song Festival again, resulting in their biggest hit. The band released a total of eight albums. In 2002 they decided to stop. However, ten years later they performed again, and started a new tour.
