Biography
Georgina Abela is a Maltese singer and songwriter. She started her musical career in 1984, when she replaced Miriam Spiteri as the singer of the Maltese group Overdose. She married the musician Paul Abela. In 1991 she and Paul Giordimaina represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest. The following year she won the Maltese selection again, this time as composer of the song “Little Child”, sung by Mary Spiteri. She participated several times as a singer again. In 2001 Fabrizio Faniello’s Another Summer Night, which she wrote, represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Paul Giordimaina won the Malta Song Festival in 1983 and in 1985. In 2011 he won the Maltese Eurovision selection, this time as a composer, with the song “One Life” sung by Glen Vella.
They teamed up for the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest.
