Biography

Born Gerhard Lux on 26 January 1959 in Vienna, Austria, he started his music career as a drummer in a band called ‘The Civilians.’ However, he achieved recognition for his vocal talents, which led him to become a session singer for numerous artists.

He joined the group Westend which represented Austria in the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Hurricane” The group placed 9th in the competition. Lux continued his association with Eurovision, providing backing vocals for the Austrian entries in 1984.

Lux went on to represent Austria as a solo artist in the Eurovision Song Contest twice. His first appearance was in 1985 with the song “Kinder dieser Welt,” which placed 8th. His second solo performance was in 1987 with the song “Nur noch Gefühl,” which unfortunately didn’t fare as well, placing 20th.

In 1993 and 1995 he did the backing vocals for Austria again.

Apart from Eurovision, Lux released solo albums “Dreidimensional” and “City of Angels”.
