Biography

Ferry Graf was an Austrian singer, born in Ternitz. He had some smaller performances in the late 1950s, when he was chosen by Austrian television to represent the country in the 1959 Eurovision Song Contest. The song he presented was called “Der K und K Kalypso aus Wien”. Ferry Graf reached four points – two from Sweden, one from Switzerland and one from Monaco – and came in ninth place. Although the title was released as a single, it was not a commercial success.
In the years after his participation Graf gave some performances on Austrian and German television, including the ZDF hit parade in 1969. Unfortunately, there were no major successes. In the 1970’s he moved to Finland, where he founded his own band, which musically focused on Hillbilly as well as on German cover versions of Elvis classics. The group was very successful with live performances. Ferry Graf became a Finnish citizen and lived in Jyväskylä, where he passed away in 2017.
