
Biography
Erika Susanna Vikman, born on February 20, 1993, in Tampere, Finland, is a Finnish singer and songwriter. She spent parts of her upbringing in Lempäälä and Pori. Her mother was also a singer who competed in the Tangomarkkinat, a Finnish tango competition. Vikman began singing during her teenage years and won the girls’ division in the 2008 Junior Tango Competition. She later participated in the 2010 Tampere Springboard Competition.
In 2013, Vikman graduated from Tampere Coeducational High School and subsequently studied pop-jazz vocals at Pirkanmaa Music College. That same year, she competed in the seventh season of the Finnish version of “Idols,” placing seventh overall.
Vikman’s career gained momentum in 2016 when she won the Tangomarkkinat, earning the title of Tango Queen. Following this achievement, she signed with Sony Music and released the single “Ettei mee elämä hukkaan” in 2017, marking a shift towards electropop music.
In 2020, Vikman participated in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), Finland’s national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song “Cicciolina.” The track, inspired by Hungarian-Italian actress Ilona Staller, known as Cicciolina, finished second in the competition. Despite not winning, “Cicciolina” became a commercial success, reaching the top five in Finland. Later that year, she released “Syntisten pöytä,” which became her first number-one radio hit. Additionally, Vikman competed in the first season of “Masked Singer Suomi” as “The Wasp,” finishing in third place.
Her self-titled debut album was released in August 2021 and topped the Finnish charts. In 2022, Vikman appeared in the thirteenth season of “Vain elämää,” the Finnish adaptation of “The Best Singers.”
In 2025, Vikman won UMK with the song “Ich komme,” securing the opportunity to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Throughout her career, Vikman has released several singles, including “Etkö uskalla mua rakastaa” (2015), “Säännöt” (2017), “Jos osaisin sanoa ei” (2017), “Häpeä” (2021), “Tääl on niin kuuma” with Arttu Wiskari (2021), “Huonoja ideoita” with Antti Tuisku (2021), “Elizabeth Taylor” (2023), “Ruoska” with Käärijä (2024), “Aivan sama” with Janna and F (2024), and “Myynnissä” (2024).
On a personal note, Vikman was in a relationship with Finnish singer Danny from 2016 to 2020. They lived together in Kirkkonummi during their relationship.
