Biography
Diane Solomon is an American singer, born in Oregon. She studied communication and Theatre Arts at the university of Oregon. After her studies, she went to the United Kingdom in order to study there. However, she was discovered as a singer when she sang country and folk songs, accompanying herself at the guitar. BBC Television gave her her own show, “The Diane Solomon show” in 1974. One year later, she released an album which entered the UK Charts. She represented Luxembourg in the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Children, Kinder, enfants”. Diane Solomon is currently living in New Hampshire. She still sings and writes, as well as practising in the fields of nutrition and homeopathy.
In 1985, Ralph Siegel got the idea of three duo’s from respectively France, Germany and the United Kingdom, to represent Luxembourg. However, the French duo contained a Dutch and a Belgian singer. The song “Children, Kinder, enfants” contained three different languages.
