Biography
Daniela Simons, also known as Daniela Simmons, is an Italian-born Swiss singer, composer and pianist. Daniela Simmons was born as a child of Italian parents. Her father was a musician and supported his daughter in her early childhood to do something with music. Daniela Simmons sang the first songs at the age of three and composed the first songs at the age of thirteen. She studied piano at the Conservatoire de Lausanne and graduated. Daniela Simmons’ entrance to professional show business was winning the 1984 La Télévision Suisse Romande music competition for young artists with a song “Une autre vie”, composed by her. The following year, she went to London and later on made an Italian tour with Enrico Ruggeri, Mariella Nava, Fiorella Mannoia and others. She took part in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1983 and 1985. In 1986, Daniela Simmons represented Switzerland at the 31st Eurovision Song Contest in Bergen, Norway with the song “Pas pour moi”. In 1991 she married composer Atilla Şereftuğ. One year later her son was born.
