Biography

Çetin Alp was a Turkish singer. His career started in 1970s with winning the competition Altın Ses. In these years, he released a Greek song that had been written by Sezen Cumhur Önal. The song became a hit, sold 500,000 copies, and earned him a golden certificate. Eventhough he released  many songs he did not release a studio album.
He was invited for the Nightvision party of  OGAE Turkije, which he had to cancel, because he was not feeling well. Shortly after he was found dead by his daughter. Çetin Alp died of a heart attack 18-5-2004, aged 56.

The Short Waves (Kısa Dalga Vokal Grubu) was a Turkish band, active from 1976 ’till 1980.  They reunited in 1983, to join Çetin Alp, to represent Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 1983. After the contest, they broke up again. They reunited shortly again in 1985 and 1988.
