Biography

Brixx was a Danish band, built around singer Jens Brixtofte (born 14 August 1956). Jens Brixtofte  is a Danish businessman and singer. His professional career began in 1975, when he and his group “MKT” won the Ekstra Bladets pladechance (the X-factor of the time) with the song “Come Along To Barbados”. The prize was a record and the winning song became quite a hit in the Danish charts. During the 1970s several English-language records followed, but the last release with the MKT – the LP “Op og stå” – was in Danish. The title track was a major radio hit in the summer of 1980. A minor change occurred in the line up of the band, and the group changed their name into Brixx. The band represented Denmark in the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest. Jens Brixtofte wrote the entry “Video-video”. Another member of the group, John Hatting, later participated in several Melodi Grand Prix’s with the duo Trax, and he has written songs for other Grand Prix participants.
A few years after Eurovision, Jens Brixtofte decided to stop. He left the music business, and took a book education.
John Hatting passed away on 23 march 2013.
