Besa

Besa Kokëdhima, known professionally as Besa, is a celebrated Albanian singer born on May 29, 1986, in Fier, Albania. From a young age, Besa exhibited a profound passion for music, participating in local talent shows and competitions. At 13, she made her first public appearance on Radio Televizioni Shqiptar.

At 15, Besa moved to the United Kingdom to pursue higher education. In 2003, she debuted with the song “Më Beso”, a collaboration with producer Florian Mumajesi and the Albanian group Produkt 28. This track earned her the Mikrofoni i Artë award. Her self-titled debut album, “Besa”, released in 2006, featured collaborations with prominent Albanian music figures, including Dorian Gjoni, Flori Mumajesi, Genti Lako, Andy DJ, and Stine.

Besa’s career is marked by numerous accolades and participations in various music festivals. She won the R&B category at Notafest with her single “Lëshoje Hapin”. In 2009, she reached the semi-finals of Romania’s Selecţia Naţională for the Eurovision Song Contest with “Nothin’ Gonna Change”. Her performance in Top Fest 2010 with “Kalorësi i Natës” earned her the Best Female Singer award. Besa also secured victory in the 15th edition of Kënga Magjike in 2013 with “Tatuazh në Zemër”.

In addition to her music career, Besa has served as a judge on The Voice of Albania since 2017, where she was voted Albania’s favorite judge in January 2024.

She has also released two acclaimed albums, “Besa për Festat” and “Ti Je Festa Ime”, featuring collaborations with the National Orchestra. Her French ballad “En Equilibre”, released in June 2022, marked her entry into the French music scene.

In December 2023, Besa participated in Festivali i Këngës 62 with the song “Zemrën n’dorë”. She won the public vote, earning the opportunity to represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. For the contest, she released an English version of the song titled “Titan” on March 11, 2024.

Despite a compelling performance, Besa did not advance to the final, placing 15th in the second semi-final with 14 points.

Undeterred, Besa continued her musical journey and, in November 2024, announced her participation in Una Voce Per San Marino 2025, aiming to represent San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
